Impak was founded in 2005 around a simple idea: that we can help forge lasting connections by placing young professionals from the West in meaningful fellowships with energetic civil society organizations in Pakistan.
Although most Impak fellows to date have been young adults of Pakistani origin raised in the United States or Great Britain, we strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
Through their placements, Impak fellows gain invaluable experience that helps them in whatever career they pursue, and Pakistan-based organizations get much-needed help to accomplish their missions.
For both parties, Impak facilitates a long-term relationship that encourages fellows to remained engaged with Pakistan and Pakistan issues, and that gives Pakistan-based organizations links to the outside world.
In short, Impak is about fostering these relationships, which in turn support our related goal of fostering understanding and goodwill between Pakistan and the West.
